Chase's 3rd Birthday Party

We decided to do a small party with family only for Chase's third birthday. He had a blast! We appreciate everyone that came. I apologize for the bazillion pictures....

The man behind the grill! And his dad (Grandpa)

Finally getting to eat! Thanks for all the hard work grilling, Kylann!

Kylann will all his brothers. Wonder what Jolene is telling them. Haha!

Kyler loves (Aunt) Amber!

Great Grandma and Grandpa Kleese with Chase.

Mommy and Kyler

My quick cupcakes. I didn't try too hard. I'm not that talented either. Give me a break! The taste is the only thing that matters, right?

Chase is very excited for the cupcakes!

Fixing the table cloth, as Chase unfixes it. Grrr...

SO excited to blow out his candles!

I love this picture!!

I think he bit his tongue...

Grandma Penrod (Jolene), Kristen Crawford, Ronda Penrod (Grandma Ronda), Sheri Toledo (Kylann's aunt), Sophia (Chase and Kyler's cousin), Ethan Toledo.

Chase was loving playing with the balloons!

Then came the presents....

Sandee made a beautiful scrapbook for me to add pictures to for Chase. She's very talented. I don't know how she does it. I think Kylann's mom was touched by it. Maybe thinking of the pictures that could go in it.

Kyler thought it was funny when Sandee was taking the pictures! He was cracking up, pointing and just being a goofball.

Grandma Penrod and Great Grandma Kleese were also cracking up at him!

Play time!!
Testing out the giant slinky!

Saying bye to Sandee when she leaves!

Grandma Penrod with two of her grandkids. Kyler and Sophia.

It was a fun day and the party went well. Chase had a blast!! He's the most important part of the party, right? ;o)

**A special thanks to Sandee Adragna for taking all of the pictures!!**

Chase is THREE!!

Ok. I know haven't posted in almost two months now. Really, I haven't had much desire to go on the computer. We are also having major issues with our computer right now and it takes like 10 years to get any simple little task done. AND we may have lost all of our pictures. Luckily I have most of the baby pictures saved on a disc, but the newer ones I don't have a lot of. Plus we've been pretty busy too.

Well, on May 3rd, my little boy turned three years old!! Three years ago I went through 41 hours of labor to bring this little man into the world. He was 8lbs 9 1/2oz and 21 in long and born exactly on his due date.

We feel very blessed to have him in our lives. He cracks us up all the time. I just wish I had some of his energy. Just a little.

He is now over 35lbs and I can't remember his height. I do remember that right now he's in the 75th percentile for his height and 50th for his weight. So he's a tall kid right now and average weight. He's still our skinny boy and we have to struggle with him to eat a lot of the time.

Just within the last 2-3 weeks he's really had a bit of a breakthrough with his speech. He's finally been putting 4-5 word sentences together. And he's really tries to say certain things. He gets quiet when he doesn't know a word too well and we always have to ask him to speak up a little. But he's doing really well. I don't know if it's the speech therapy that's helping him or just us encouraging him all the time. Maybe little of both. He has finally started saying Grandma (Gamma) and Grandpa (Papa). He also calls my mom Nana.

He's still a stinker to his little brother, but there are some moments when he is so sweet to him.

He was patting Kyler on the back here. It was really sweet.

He is getting a little bit better with sharing. He's learning to wait for toys when his brother is playing with them, but that's still a work in progress. I can always tell when he's bugging Kyler when I hear a blood curdling scream from his little brother. Haha! (Something we're trying to work on with Kyler too).

He loves to pretend to scare. He goes up to Kyler a lot and says, "RAAARRRR!" Kyler loves it. It's too cute! (I think he gets that from his mother).

His favorite "toy" is the I-Pod. We loaded a whole bunch of toddler apps on it and he loves to interact with them. His favorites are the puzzles. He's actually very good at puzzles and loves to work on them. (Got that from Grandma Penrod I think).

He still refuses to nap anymore. But by late afternoon it's obvious he really could have used one. By then, it's too late for him to nap. There have been several times where I've given him a "timeout" in his room, left him in there for no more than 3-5 minutes and come in to him like this....

I hate waking him up, but if we don't he wouldn't get to sleep at night until at least midnight. So I use someone else to wake him for me....

Kyler will try and pull his eyes open and then climbs on top of him. Chase usually yells out, "NO!! I seeping!" Haha!

He definitely keeps us on our toes. And I think he was put into our lives to make us better people. To teach us patience and love just a little bit better. Let me tell you, he does try that patience with us an awful lot! But we couldn't imagine our lives without him. We love our little Chase Bug so much!! :o)
