I ended up not going for the water birth as most of you might already know. I woke up at 4:30am on March 17th with contractions. They were about 15-20 minutes apart. Kylann called off work that day, just in case. Plus to help me out as much as he could. Of course the little stinker didn't come that day, so he could have made to work. But I was glad to have him home. It was a lot easier not having to take care of Chase while in the middle of contractions. Chase was very cute. He would give me hugs whenever I looked like I was in pain. He can be such a sweet boy sometimes. (If only it was everyday). So of course they went into the night. Since they started getting stronger and about 8-10 minutes apart we decided to have Kylann's mom come and get Chase for the night. Around 9pm or so, we decided to try and see if we could get some sleep. At least for Kylann. I of course didn't get any.
I started having very strong contractions that were about 6 minutes apart around 11:30 or so. We decided to call the Birthing Center answering service around 12:30am. We met with Judy, the midwife on call. Of course this is the only midwife that I hadn't met. But she was wonderful! We got there around 1am and they were about 3-4 minutes apart. Since I had been having contractions for almost 24 hours now and I was only at a 4, I decided I was going to have to deliver in the hospital and get some sort of pain relief. I was all about doing it naturally as it's suppose to make labor go faster and it's better for the baby, but I wussed out and wanted to get the epideral. Sorry for all those that were rooting for me, I guess I wasn't as brave as I thought I would be for the water birth. :o( Turns out it was better that I went to the hospital anyway. The midwife that delivered me had another patient that ended up going to the hospital. So if I had stayed at the birthing center she would have had to go back and forth and I wouldn't have seen her the whole time. Plus, what if the other girl was delivering at the same time. With how everything went, I'm happy that I decided on the hospital.
By the time I got to the hospital I was at a 6. So it was already going A LOT faster than it had with Chase. That I was happy about. I got my epidural and was able to rest for maybe 30 minutes or so until it came time to deliver that baby. I'm not sure how long it took, but I think it was about and hour or more of pushing and he finally came at 5:15am. They put him on my chest which I thought was a little weird since they didn't do that with Chase. But it was a whole new experience with a different doctor and at a different hospital. It was fun to see him right afterwards, not exactly a pretty sight, but kind of cool.

We didn't take a whole lot of pictures with Chase and the baby. Chase had a cold that lasted for over a week when Kyler was born, so we weren't letting him near the baby. Poor kid. He really wanted to. He's been a GREAT big brother. Always giving him hugs and kissing him. He loves to help mommy by bringing blankets and diapers for him. I'm very surprised and happy as to how he's been around him. He has gotten jealous a few times, but not too bad. He still throws his tantrums, which is nothing out of the ordinary for him.
It's been difficult for me adjusting to having two kids around. I don't understand how people get housework done and even get a chance to eat and shower! It seems that everytime I go to do one of these things, one of them starts crying or needs me for something. I just don't get it! The only time I can do one of these things is to wait for Kylann to come home. Or, if by chance I catch both of them sleeping. (The latter doesn't happen very often though). My apartment is a wreck and it's driving me crazy, but I feel funny to have someone help me pick it up. I still don't have things organized from moving in here and I wouldn't know where to tell someone to put things.
Well, hopefully that wasn't TMI at all. I'm just so glad I didn't have to wait 41 hours to meet this little guy. Over 24 hours is still a bit long for me, but I'm glad it was definitely faster this time around.

Ok seriously! You're labors are HARD. Don't let anyone tell you that you wussed out! Frankly, if my labor was 25 hours, I wouldn't have done natural either! You are awesome! I'm glad that you did what you could, you rock!
Congrats on the little guy. I remember feeling like I didn't know how anyone eat or slept or showered when I had my first one... So I'm sure the next time around it will be quite the trick for me too!
