Chase is walking!

I guess it's been awhile since I've posted, so I thought I would post an update....

We are currently house sitting for a friend until the of June. It's been nice to get a break from living at Kylann's mom's house and to finally feel like we are on our own again. But unfortunately it will all end in a few months. We are also in charge of taking care of their two Cocker Spaniel dogs, a Jack Russel and two cats. They are still very young and are probably the worst behaved dogs I've ever seen! They are awful! She got them when she was going through a divorce so she hasn't had the time or energy to properly train them. Luckily they are pretty much house trained. Kylann and I have been really trying to discipline them and boy do they hate that! They are used to being treated like babies and pretty much run the household. The Jack Russel has flipped out and tried to attack me about four times already. The way he acts, you'd think he was being beaten, the little monster! They have also chewed up the nipples on both of Chase's cups and one of his bottles, his toys, the trash (including ones with diapers in it)...the list goes on and on!! We are having to keep them outside all day and block them off to one side of the house at night. Oh and sometimes the cats don't seem to like to use the litter box. So almost every morning we wake up to a little surprise by the front door. AND one of them seems to think one of the plants is a litter box! Seriously!! If these were my animals they would have been gone a long time ago! It makes me wonder if I really like animals as much as I thought I did.

Well, on a brighter note, Chase took his first step on March 16th. He's been doing pretty good with it and practicing little by little. We are trying to encourage him more, but he gets around faster crawling right now and prefers that more. I have a video, but unfortunately don't have access to my computer that has the software I need to upload it. I will post that soon.

His favorite thing right now is to push stuff around. He had a blast at Grandpa Penrod's pushing around some toys and anything that he could move. We went to a friend's birthday party and he decided to push around a stroller with his friend Will (Sam & Sarah Roger's baby) in it.

Chase is two weeks younger than him so it was really funny to see. Will didn't seem to mind or notice at all.

Daddy had fun doing stiffies with Chase too!

Almost every time he grabs for something he has to open his mouth. Yes, I have an odd child.

I tried to teach him how to blow into it, but I guess he's still too young for that.

I wanted to take a picture of the daddies together.

What handsome boys!

At the end of the day, he crashed! He hadn't had much of a nap this day. Poor kid.

Chase had his first sickness this past weekend. I think he's still recovering from it. He had a fever of 101 and he had diarrhea. He probably took about 4 or 5 naps those days. I think that's it's the most he's ever slept before in his short little life! We almost wanted him to stay sick because he was so cuddly. What terrible parents are we? Poor little guy. He could never seem to get comfortable when he was awake. He is doing better and his fever is gone, but he's still very cranky and very gassy. I wish I knew what to do to help him. Luckily I'm still nursing, so I know that helps a lot.

This is how he positioned himself at one point.

Kylann is meeting with the Background Investigator tomorrow for the Border Patrol. We are hoping that all will go well. Unless he has any skeletons in the closet, he should be fine. Once he passes this, they will let him know where he's going to be stationed and when he goes to the academy.

That's all the happenings with us lately. I hope everyone is doing well and is healthy.

I will definitely let you know how it goes. He was meeting the guy at 11 and it was suppose to be for about 2 hours. I think he might have been late too. He was meeting him at his mom's house and got a phone call from the guy saying that he was almost there. Kylann hadn't even left yet. :o( I just hope that he made it in time and that doesn't reflect anything bad on his part. I hope he calls me before he goes to work and lets me know what happened.

That's great news! Wouldn't it be great if you had to move closer to home? I mean your East Coast home? I can dream can't I?
