We celebrated Chase's first birthday last month. It was chaos for me, but I lived through it. Kylann didn't get home from work until right when the party started. So I was stuck by myself to clean up, decorate, make the cake, get the food, take care of Chase...etc. I was going nutz! Luckily I had my friend Allison come over a couple hours before it started to help alleviate some of the stress for me. She was a great help! She made another cake and then when Chase's great grandparents showed up, Grandma helped decorate it to make it look somewhat cute. (She used to do it for a living). It ended up being a clown. Not my first choice at all, but it worked. I had attempted and failed at my first try in decorating a cake. I tried to make a dump truck, but I cut too much off and it turned to crap. He didn't dig into the cake as much as I wanted him too, but we still got some good pictures. He mostly ate the frosting. Then a couple hours before the party, I found out that some of our friends that were suppose to help barbeque weren't going to be able to make it. So needless to say, I didn't have everything ready until about an hour after the party started. I felt so bad and very disorganized! But I think it went well. I wish it would have gone better, but I guess it was alright for my first time. Thank you to all who helped out!! I really, really appreciated it! I still can't believe he's a year old!
